Hackers Are People Too

Why is it whenever someone finds out you are capable of turning their computer and online world upside down they immediately make the assumption that you are a bad person and that you are going to do it to them.

Every single person I’ve ever spoken to online, when I’ve told them a computer security enthusiast also known as a hacker the first thing they say is don’t hack me. And then they make the assumption that I’m a bad person.

Perhaps they don’t realise that it is because of people like me the world has light bulbs, computers, clothes, anything man has ever created was because he or she had that natural curiosity to not look at something and say oh well that’s it then, it’s the curiosity to want to push something that next step further and find out how and why it works.

Don’t you ever wonder how a television projects the image you you want to view, or wonder how your computer does what it does. If you don’t then that is why you aren’t a hacker. Those select few of us who do have that curiosity find a way to learn to hack, if you have to ask someone how to then your not hacker material in my opinion.

Anyway leave your thoughts on hackers in a comment, don’t worry no matter what you say I wont magically blow up your computer with some bad ass exploit.

  • It’s more than just wanting to be one, or know what goes on. You have to be born with it, as a kid growing up anything such as VCR, TV, and anything that had a sort of technology I would rip apart and dismantle. I love this post, I’ll retweet/repost on my blog.

  • <3 Thanks for clearing it up for the rest of the world.

Theres so many types of hackers out there, I myself am in love with computer security, micro controlling, programming and a bunch of other computer related things. Yeah I will "hack" something I just bought because what the manufacturer wanted is not what I wanted.

Heres a PDA, it has an Arm9 processor in it, it runs a custom OS and has a 240X360 screen resolution. The first thing I do is take it home and mess with it for about, hmm I dont really know, an hour at top. Within that time I will see what I like/dislike. Then I will take it apart and see what kind of IC's they use. Ill go grab the datasheets to see what its capable of then I will begin development. I will do my best to hack it because I (unlike others) want to unlock its full potential.

Hackers are deemed untrustworthy by the media and manufacturers. You should be labeled by what you do, not by what the majority does. I am what they call a black hat, because I make "insert something here" do what I want. I don't make virus's, I don't attack programs or make exploits. Why am I the bad guy? The only thing I do is make my own personal belongings do what I want them to do. Yet you still look at me like I’m doing something wrong.

I don’t care to void my warranty, why should you?!?

My input :D (came from beatdown)
